Preschool & Kindergarten School Readiness Program

Edu-Play specialised in school readiness for children in the Altona area. We have a long standing history of collaborating with local families to prepare their children for a solid start at primary schools such as St. Mary's Altona, Seaholme Primary School, Altona Primary and Altona P-9 College.

Starting primary school is a significant milestone for children as they transition into formal schooling. Here's a list of school readiness goals tailored for a child starting prep. At Edu-Play Early Learning, being a small and individualised program, these goals are tailored to each child's specific needs in order to give them the best start to school life.

These school readiness goals can help guide parents, caregivers, and educators in preparing a child for a successful transition to prep. It's important to remember that children develop at their own pace, and these goals should be flexible and adapted to meet the individual needs and abilities of each child. Collaboration between home and kindergarten is crucial in supporting children's readiness for the exciting journey of formal education

Creating a Holistic Learning Environment: The Edu-Play Classroom Approach

The Edu-Play classroom masterfully integrates the principles of Reggio Emilia, play-based learning, and the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) into its design, layout, and resource selection to create a holistic and enriching environment for children's development.

✔️ Drawing inspiration from Reggio Emilia, the classroom is designed to be aesthetically pleasing and inviting, with natural light, open spaces, and flexible learning areas that encourage exploration, creativity, and collaboration.

✔️ The play-based learning approach is embedded in the layout through the incorporation of diverse play zones that cater to both structured and spontaneous play, fostering children's imagination, problem-solving skills, and social interactions.

✔️ The resources, such as educational toys, tools, and visual aids, are carefully curated to align with the ESDM's developmental objectives, promoting language, cognitive, and social skills development through interactive and engaging experiences.
